January 27, 2025, the second iteration of the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques Camel Festival will get underway at Riyadh's famous Janadriyah Camel Race Track. This 10-day event highlights Saudi Arabia's rich camel racing legacy and is an important cultural and athletic celebration. With a total prize money over SAR 70 million, the event includes 224 races in several categories, such as Heil and Zamoul, Jatha’a, Thanya, Laqaya.
Camel owners from 15 different nations will be attending this year's festival, demonstrating its expanding international reach. With the goal of preserving and advancing camel racing as an essential component of Saudi cultural and athletic legacy for future generations, the event has the backing of the Saudi government.
